Effective management of public infrastructure—ranging from railways, roads, waterways, bridges, and tunnels to utility networks for gas, water, and electricity, as well as wastewater treatment plants, ports, and airports—has become increasingly vital in recent years. With growing demand, aging assets, limited resources, budget constraints, operational efficiency challenges, tighter output regulations, and climate change pressures, there is an urgent need to manage these physical assets proactively and with a lifecycle perspective.
