An Interactive 5-Day Training Course

Building AI Agents for Business Automation

Designing and Deploying Agentic Workflows Without Writing Code

NASBA

Course Introduction

Many organisations now have access to platforms that allow business teams to build AI agents without engineering support. The constraint is no longer the technology but the discipline: choosing the right process, writing instructions an agent can follow reliably, connecting the correct data, and testing thoroughly before anything is permitted to act. This training course addresses that discipline directly and practically.

Participants build working agentic workflows across the week using no-code and low-code platforms, progressing from a single-task agent to a multi-step workflow with defined boundaries and human checkpoints. The training course covers process selection, instruction design, tool and data connection, structured testing, deployment and ongoing monitoring. Delegates leave with at least one agent built around a process from their own organisation. No programming experience is required.

This Building AI Agents for Business Automation training course will highlight:

  • Selecting business processes genuinely suited to agentic automation
  • Writing agent instructions that produce consistent, reliable behaviour
  • Connecting agents to organisational data, tools and applications
  • Testing agentic workflows before they are permitted to act
  • Monitoring, controlling and improving agents in live operation

Objectives

At the end of this Building AI Agents for Business Automation training course, you will learn to:

  • Identify and scope processes where an AI agent will deliver measurable benefit
  • Design and document an agentic workflow from end to end
  • Build and configure working agents using no-code platforms
  • Test agent behaviour systematically and diagnose failure conditions
  • Establish monitoring, permissions and escalation for deployed agents

Training Methodology

This training course is built around hands-on construction. Short instructional inputs are followed by extended practical sessions in which participants build, test and refine agents on no-code platforms. Work proceeds through process mapping, instruction drafting, tool connection, structured testing and peer review. Participants work on a process drawn from their own organisation wherever possible, and every exercise is completed without writing code.

Organisational Impact

By sending their employees to this training course, organisations will gain:

  • Automation capability developed within business teams rather than technology functions alone
  • Reduced manual effort in repetitive, multi-step administrative processes
  • Consistent, documented agent design in place of uncontrolled experimentation
  • Agents tested against defined criteria before reaching live operation
  • Clear ownership, permissions and monitoring for deployed agents
  • A repeatable internal method for identifying and building further agents

Personal Impact

By attending this training course, participants will develop:

  • Practical ability to build an AI agent without technical support
  • Improved skill in writing precise, unambiguous agent instructions
  • Confidence in testing agents and diagnosing why they fail
  • A clearer sense of what automation can and cannot be trusted with
  • A completed, working agent applicable to their own role
  • Increased professional value as automation moves into business functions

Who Should Attend?

This training course is suitable to a wide range of professionals but will greatly benefit:

  • Operations and Business Process Professionals
  • Administration, Shared Services and Back-Office Team Leaders
  • Business Analysts and Process Improvement Specialists
  • Digital Transformation and Automation Practitioners
  • HR, Finance, Procurement and Customer Service Professionals
  • Professionals responsible for improving repetitive, multi-step processes

Course Outline

Day 1

Foundations of Agentic Automation

  • What an AI agent does, and how it differs from a script, macro or chatbot
  • The current no-code and low-code agent platform landscape
  • Anatomy of an agent: instructions, tools, data and boundaries
  • Orientation and first build: a simple single-task agent
  • Understanding non-deterministic behaviour and its practical consequences
  • Setting expectations: where agents perform well and where they fail
Day 2

Selecting and Mapping the Process

  • Criteria for choosing a process suited to agentic automation
  • Mapping the process as it is actually performed, not as documented
  • Identifying decision points, exceptions and points requiring judgement
  • Determining what the agent does and what remains with the human
  • Documenting inputs, outputs and conditions for success
  • Workshop: participants map and scope their own process
Day 3

Designing the Agent

  • Writing instructions: specificity, sequencing and constraints
  • Providing context and reference material the agent can draw on
  • Connecting tools, applications and data sources
  • Structuring multi-step workflows and handovers between steps
  • Designing human checkpoints and approval gates
  • Build session: constructing the participant’s own agent
Day 4

Testing and Correcting

  • Building a test set that reflects real operating conditions
  • Testing for edge cases, ambiguity and incomplete inputs
  • Diagnosing failures: instruction, data, tool or scope
  • Iterating instructions and narrowing agent boundaries
  • Handling errors, escalation and safe failure
  • Peer review: participants test one another’s agents
Day 5

Deployment, Monitoring and Scaling

  • Preparing an agent for live use: permissions and access control
  • Monitoring performance, cost and behaviour over time
  • Logging and reviewing agent actions for accountability
  • Handover, ownership and documentation
  • Building a pipeline of further automation candidates
  • Recognising when an agent should be retired or returned to manual handling

Certificate

On successful completion of this training course, Oxford Management Centre Certificate with eligible Continuing Professional Education credits (CPE) from National Registry of CPE Sponsor will be awarded to the delegates
